WotR Uruk Hai Project

•February 16, 2009 • 6 Comments

Welcome back (to me, I’m sure no one else is here…)

With WotR on the horizon, I’ve decided to expand upon my Uruk Hai force to make a proper army.

Currently I have Lurtz, 16 scouts with bows, 8 scouts with hand weapon(??), 24 scouts with hand weapon and shield and 4 berzerkers complete.

On the painting table based and primed I have: 24 engineers w. bombs, 24 feral uruk hai, 26 berzerkers, 7 scouts, 45 uruk hai w. hand weapon and shield, 9 uruk hai with pikes, 2 banner bearers, 2 captains, 1 lurtz, 1 shaman, 1 Grima and 1 Saruman.

I’m hoping to have them painted (or almost there) within 6 days!!!

After that, I have 134 assorted other Uruk hai (pike, hand weapon shield, crossbow, ugluk, vrasku, troll, etc.)

I figure I’ll be pushing 3000 points with all of this.

Not too much to say, but they turned out pretty good. Need to be based.

Hey all (I think there is 1 person visiting this, as I never update).

Well, I leave for the UK in a few hours, and my procrastinating had me thinking I wasn’t going to finish, but I proved myself wrong.

YAY!

so, here is the almost finished product (I’ve done some touchups, and removed some cat hair since taking the pics).

Wish me luck (I’ll need it).

But seriously, I’m happy just to be entering, so I’ll try to take lots of pics while there.

Make sure to check out my exploits on PoD3 over the next 90 days.

out.

wow

I actually forgot that I had started this, oops!

Anyhoo, with UK Gamesday quickly approaching, and me only being home for 12 days between now and then, I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew!

I am committed to completing my captain (plus, I’m excited to paint more marines in the near future).

here is a new WIP, enjoy!

My pics are still way too dark for my liking, but what can you do?

its dark, it has no paint on it, but I think it turned out pretty darn cool!

I haven’t glued his ‘uge head on yet, as it would prevent my being able to paint him!

This will be the bad boy leading the West in our 2008 cross Canada Battletour!

once again, wish me luck!

I’ll get back to painting my sgt tomorrow.

something else I’ve been slowly working on

Ahoi hoi.

Here is the Harlequin Wraithlord I have been working on for it seems forever.

I have the head all but done, and am now drawing a blank as to where to go from here.

any feedback would be appreciated!

Yay, pack is done. Boo, pics are crap.

I think I’ll stop complaining about my camera.

So, tomorrow, on to the model itself!

A pox upon Cannon!

so, I pulled out my old Nikon, which I was about to give to my Dad.

The pictures are not as crisp, but at least they show much closer to the actual colour.

I think next week I’m just going to revamp my lighting rig, and get some nice additional lamps.

I haven’t actually painted in a few days (been to busy playing!) but here are a few better pics.

Razzafrazza….!!!!

I’m starting to think my new digital camera is CRAP at taking macro photos (what I bought it for).

I might have to revert to the old Nikon.

Anyway, here is another backpack pic, which looks nothing like the actual backpack, yay.

It’s green, I swear!

So, as I’m terrified about entering the GD’s and making a fool of myself, I thought I’d start slow with the backpack.

I obviously need more / better lighting, as the pack already has 5 highlights of green on it.

I’m going to try light-sourcing on the model, and I thought something easy to practice on (and throw away if it doesn’t work out) would be the best place to start.

I plan on going as bright as I did on my Salamander’s EC model I painted 4 years ago

Only got 25 min in today painting, but I did start converting a Wazdakka model for the battle-tour, and it’s looking pretty cool if I do say so myself!
